On Thursday we took a trip to another art museum. This was my favorite museum so far because there was a big variety of art. The museum has a collection of aristocratic man and his wife’s paintings that they collected through life together.
Our homework was to find one work for each of the following categories.
One that shows a place where you have been
Architecture II by Lyonel Feininger
- This painting is set in New York. I went to New York before I came to Iowa and this painting reminded me of the buildings. New York is one of my favorite places I’ve been to.

One that you would hang in your bedroom
Picture with Three Spots by Wassily Kandinksy
- I would hang this one in my room because I love the fun colors. My room is grey so this would accent my walls very well.

One that you would give to someone in particular
The Cliff of Aval by Eugene Boudin
- I would give this painting to my mom because she loves the ocean. The ocean always reminds me of my mom because I grew up going to the beach as a kid. She taught me to love the ocean because it’s not something we get to see hardly ever!

One that represents something you believe in
Woman in The Mirror by Paul Delvaux
- To me this painting shows that no matter where you are, or who you are, you can find beauty within yourself and you should always hold yourself to the upmost power.

One that you simply loved at first sight
Yvette Guilbert by Henry Toulouse-Lautrec
- I loved this painting. It felt like something I dreamed I would look like when I was little. It reminded me of something I used to sketch in my journals growing up!

Adios!
Morgan

Wonderful choices! Could you include titles and artists for the benefit of your readers? They may want to dig a bit deeper!
You and I both love the ocean now, so I am grateful it is your happy place too!
